Sandeep Lamichhane Joins Nepal Cricket Team

Sandeep Lamichhane, a player from Nepal’s cricket team, announced on social media that he is now with his team in the West Indies. He is there to play in the last two matches of the T20 World Cup 2024. Before this, he could not play because he didn’t get a visa to travel to the USA. But now, he is in the West Indies to help Nepal in their remaining Group D games against South Africa and Bangladesh.

The Cricket Association of Nepal confirmed that even though Sandeep was denied a visa twice to the USA, he is currently in the Caribbean and ready to play. The cricket board said, “Lamichhane was denied a US visa twice, which prevented him from participating in the initial stages of the T20 World Cup. However, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has confirmed that he is now in the Caribbean and will play in Nepal’s two league stage games in the West Indies”.  Nepal, who lost their first game, will play against South Africa on June 15 and Bangladesh on June 17 at the Arnos Vale stadium in St. Vincent.
