The 30-year-old Williams has represented South Africa in two Tests, four ODIs, and 11 T20 Internationals since making his international debut in 2021. He was acquired by the Delhi Capitals at his base price of INR 50 lakh.

Brook’s absence was a significant blow for the Delhi Capitals, who had secured his services for a hefty ₹4 crore at the IPL 2024 auction. However, the signing of Williams adds much-needed pace to their bowling attack. Williams is known for his ability to generate good pace and swing the new ball, which could be a valuable asset for the Delhi Capitals in the upcoming matches.

With the addition of Williams, the Delhi Capitals will be hoping to solidify their position in the IPL 2024 playoffs. Right now they are number 10 at the points table after losing 4 matches out of 5.
