DC vs CSK 2024: Pant Fined for Slow Over Rate Despite Delhi Capitals’ Win

Pant Fined

Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant has been hit with a hefty fine for his team’s slow over rate during their victory against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2024 match on Sunday, March 31st 2024. The match, played at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, saw Delhi emerge victorious by 20 runs.

However, their win came at a cost. This is the first offense of the season for the Delhi Capitals regarding slow over rate, and as per IPL regulations, Pant has been fined a whopping INR ₹12 lakh.  It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time a captain has been penalized for this issue in IPL 2024. Just a few days earlier, on Tuesday, March 26th, Shubman Gill, the Gujarat Titans captain, faced a similar fine of ₹12 lakh for his team’s slow over rate during their match against CSK at the Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

These fines serve as a reminder to all teams about the importance of maintaining the designated over rate during IPL matches. Slow over rates can disrupt the flow of the game and impact the viewing experience for fans. For more IPL details, IPL satta apps, and IPL news keep visiting cricketbetpro.
