USA Announce T20 World Cup Squad: Indian Origin, Monank Patel to Lead Charge
The United States Cricket Association (USACA) has unveiled its 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, co-hosted by the USA and the USA. The tournament kicks off on June 1st and will see the USA take on neighbor Canada in their opening match.
Monank Patel Named Captain
Experienced all-rounder Monank Patel will lead the American charge as captain. He will be ably supported by vice-captain Aaron Jones, who brings valuable leadership experience to the team.
Familiar Faces and Exciting Additions
The squad features a mix of established players like Harmeet Singh, Jessy Singh, and Saurabh Netravalkar, who have been instrumental in the USA’s recent cricketing success. Exciting new additions include Shayan Jahangir, a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper all-rounder, and fast bowler Ali Khan, who will be looking to make their mark on the world stage.
World Cup Veteran Joins the Ranks
A notable inclusion is former New Zealand cricketer Corey Anderson. The experienced all-rounder brings international experience and big-match temperament to the team.
Reserves at the Ready
Gajanand Singh, Juanoy Drysdale, and Yasir Mohammad will serve as reserve players, providing additional depth and support to the squad.
