Tempers flared during the high-voltage IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. SRH created IPL history by posting a mammoth total of 287 runs for the loss of just 3 wickets in their 20 overs. This is the highest team total ever recorded in the IPL! Seeing the boundaries fly off the bats, Kohli’s anger boiled over. Cameras captured him kicking the ground in frustration and yelling at his teammates, presumably for letting the runs flow freely.

Kohli himself started his chase well but eventually fell victim to the bowling of Mayank Markande. Despite a valiant effort from Dinesh Karthik, who scored a quickfire 83 runs, RCB fell short of the target by 25 runs, ending their innings at 262/7.

This loss marked RCB’s sixth defeat of the season, leaving them in a precarious position in the IPL points table. On the other hand, SRH secured a convincing victory, their fourth of the season, and climbed to the coveted fourth position in the standings.
